We lost (hardware failure) the internet router on the network Monday morning. A new router was put in place that night. (Oct 29.)

The slideshow function has been changed.

Gallery slideshows now display in a larger size on a plain web page. The actual slideshow flash object has been updated to a larger interface with cooler icon style buttons.

CPU upgrade

Upgraded the web server CPU to AMD 4400 X2 today.

If anyone wants a AMD 3800 X2 939 pin still under warranty for $60 (with fan)....drop me a line
Also, a WD 36 gig Raptor HD (10K rpm) that was just replaced under warranty for $90

Posts you have not read feature

This feature is found under forums/shortcuts/Posts you have not read.

It will display all the posts that you have not read. It's a really great feature (IMHO.)

To get started, you will have to mark all posts as read in each forum one time. This will get all the old posts cleared from the list. Do that under 'More options' (bottom of page) on each forum and click the 'Mark all read' button. This will remove that forum's posts from your 'Posts you have not read' list.

After that when new posts are added they will be displayed on your 'Posts you have not read' list until you view them.

File download area now available

The GNPA associate file download area is now configured to allow large file sizes to be uploaded.

You can upload slide shows etc. to the GNPA download area if you are an associate. I can create individual download areas for supporting associates upon request.

GNPA associate home page gallery created

The 'GNPA Associate gallery' on the home page is now linked to the 'GNPA group' gallery.

As an associate you can post one of your images to the 'GNPA group' gallery and it will display on the home page.

You can change your image when you wish by managing the gallery content. It's easy. Please only post one image to this gallery so all associates can have an image available on the home page. These images typically get quite a number of hits.

This skin change will keep one of your images on the home page. It will not be replaced as other user galleries are updated.

Web server upgrade

The web server hardware was upgraded Friday May 11 and Saturday May 12.

We have moved to an AMD 3800 X2 dual core cpu, 2 gig of ram and a combination of mirrored and striped disk(s.)

Additional galleries for contributing members

GNPA members who contribute to the operational costs of the site can have additional galleries (example: my Venice one) created for them.

This will allow you to organize your images into galleries by categories.

Account approval now needed for new accounts. There were too many spammers signing up.

I deleted three spammer accounts today and some last month. It's best we keep these people out of the bbs. So new accounts will now need administrator approval. I will usually approve new accounts within 24 hours.

I may do email verification, if I am in doubt as to an accounts intentions. Using your real name and having a valid domain email will speed approval.

I have enabled the RSS feed tool in the software for GNPA members. You can add feeds using the 'My Reader' tab on the toolbar.

Bulk upload of images into gallery for GNPA associates

There is a bulk upload feature in the software that allows many images to be uploaded to a gallery at once.

I tested this out with some of the Caribbean images (59) and it works 'sweet.'

So, if any of the core members has a wack of images to upload (over 50) they can be given to me at the monthly meeting and I will upload them.

The images should be sized and ready to go....on cd or USB key etc.
