Some system down time over the next few days

I'm installing a new server, and the system was down yesterday as I messed with hardware etc.

There will be some more downtime as I consolidate two servers into one and put a ssd disk in. This should all be done this weekend.

    Status update:

The new server is is place. There is some tweaking left to do, but all is working. Moving Server 2008 R2 to different hardware is not so easy to do if the disk controllers are of different types. But i got it done by moving a SATA controller from the old box to the new so Server 2008 would boot. Then I pulled the SATA card after the new motherboard hard disk controller was configured.  The server now has 8 gig of ram after all this. It's the same Intel Q9400 processor,  so any extra speed comes from the SSD boot drive, more memory,  and the new dedicated page file disk.

I've used the old server case and motherboard to build my daughter a Photoshop PC. In construction I used a 64 gig SSD for the boot drive, two one terabyte hard disks, 4 gig of fast ram, new Intel Q9300 processor (quad core) and a 512 meg DDR3 video card. She now has a machine that boots in under 30 seconds and rates 7.2 on the Windows 7 benchmarks (processor and memory.) I just did the easy 5% overclock on the CPU in the BIOS. There is a large heatpipe based heatsink in the box with extra fans to keep it all running cool.

The site will be down the evening of Tuesday July 27 while I move the webs to the new server.
